Our Everyday Necessities Kits are created to provide both comfort and essential support to individuals in need. Each kit includes a thoughtful mix of snacks such as Rice Krispies Squares, cookies, oatmeal packs, and juice boxes, along with hygiene items like toothbrushes, soap, and toothpaste.

Hearts & Homes was honored to have partnered with Domino’s Pizza to deliver over 50 hot pizzas and drinks to the Kerr Street Mission Community Lunch in Oakville. Each pizza box carried more than just a meal, as it also included a handwritten letter of encouragement, many written by caring middle school students months earlier.

Each pizza box carried more than just a meal, as it also included a handwritten letter of encouragement, many written by caring middle school students months earlier.
This initiative combined nourishment with kindness, reminding community members that they are valued and supported. By addressing food insecurity while sharing messages of hope, we created an experience that fed both body and spirit.

Hearts&Homes was proud to engage Appleby students in meaningful experiences that combined hands-on action with education on social issues. During the Middle School Community Action Day, students worked together to build wooden frame structures and transform milk bags into durable mattresses, providing comfort and hope to those in need. Later, at Appleby College’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Day, we facilitated discussions on homelessness and classism, inspiring students to think critically about social equity and ways to make a difference. These events highlighted the power of youth-led initiatives, showing how education, empathy, and action can create real impact in our community.
